The animation is pretty choppy, but it just seems to be pretty natural for some of these PC-98 games, though the framerate has little impact on the controls, which respond well. Visually, the game is adequate if not above average. Obviously, “you” were chosen and you get to choose one of the six you want to personally manage. It has come down to the six most powerful and the last one standing gets to face the reigning champion. As it turns out, the “cat” explains that once approximately every 1200 years, his world holds a competition where beautiful, powerful “magical witches” (or magical girls / Mahou Shoujo if you prefer) fight to become the new queen of the world, and they scout for worthy humans to act as an observer to the battles. ![]() As fate would have it, the cat wasn’t an ordinary cat, but a creature from another world, the Magical World. It deals with an ordinary Japanese high school student named Hatsumi Tarou who is one day visited by a cat. Valkyrie: TPB is a pretty good adult fighting game developed by “Discovery Software” in the vein of Advanced Variable Geo, but it was in some ways more advanced and polished, though I can’t speak for the framerate or animation. ![]()
